Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Sarasota will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in Florida usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.

Sarasota is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Sarasota is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Service and atmosphere there is great, and they have a wide variety of options for vegans and omnivores alike. We got the rice tots, tofu Reuben, and penne ala vodka. The appetizer was great, albeit a bit high priced for the portion size. The pasta was a great portion size and very flavorful. But was disappointed with the Reuben. It had the components of a Reuben (“meat”, cheese, thousand island, and kraut) but the tofu was practically raw and just a massive slab instead of thin sliced like you’d expect. It also had the smallest amount of kraut which would have been great to have more of. I don’t want to step on any toes here but the tofu preparation could really use work. Try pressing it and slicing it thinner. The amount of tofu isn’t the problem, it’s just how it’s served.

We were genuinely impressed with our experience at Lila. You can immediately tell there’s real care and creativity behind the food here. The vegan bread and whipped coconut “butter” were such a unique and delicious touch to start the meal — simple, but done so well. The roasted yam wedges were absolutely amazing and easily one of the standout dishes for us. The ricotta crepes were light, fresh, and perfectly balanced with plenty of maple syrup and beautiful fresh berries, which made every bite feel indulgent without being too heavy. We also tried the breakfast burrito and the bison burger, and both were incredibly flavorful. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, fresh, and nourishing and we are excited to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you appreciate fresh ingredients and creative dishes!

I had a wonderful dinner at Lila restaurant in Sarasota and everything exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Burmese Noodle Bowl and the pasta with bison meatballs—both dishes were incredibly flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The quality of the ingredients really stood out, especially the tender bison meatballs and the rich, aromatic spices in the noodle bowl. The service was excellent from start to finish—attentive, friendly, and thoughtful without being intrusive. I also enjoyed a beautiful berry hot tea served in a stunning teapot, which had a naturally sweet, smooth flavor that made it especially comforting. To finish, the chocolate mousse cake was rich and absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience with outstanding food, warm service, and a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely return and highly recommend Lila to anyone in Sarasota looking for a special meal.

This is not an all vegan restaurant in spite of Google’s description of it as such. It is a vegan “forward” restaurant so that it has a lot of vegan dishes and some animal dishes. It is a bit amusing because it’s like when a vegan is looking for a place to take meat-eaters to so that they have a few options except their options are more varied than a vegan would find at a traditional restaurant where they have one or two vegan options, so it’s finally our turn! The vegan sushi is very nice. It is an expensive place though so be prepared. 🤑

I’m so thrilled to have discovered Lila’s in Sarasota! From the moment I walked in, I was drawn in by the inviting atmosphere, stylish decor, and, most importantly, their incredible PREMIUM plant-based/vegan menu! It’s truly one of the most impressive menus I’ve come across, with every dish delivering bold, unforgettable flavors! As more people embrace premium plant-based lifestyles, restaurants like Lila’s are a true gem! So many of us are becoming aware of the heartbreaking realities of the meat, dairy, and egg industries and realizing they don’t align with our values. Lila’s not only offers a cruelty-free dining experience but does so with a menu that’s both innovative, healthier for you and absolutely delicious!! This is the wave of the future! The Penne Alla Vodka is a standout—rich, creamy, and completely plant-based! The vegan crab cakes are a flavor-packed delight, and the Mediterranean Bowl is fresh, vibrant, and satisfying. Everyone at our table raved about their meals, and it’s easy to see why. Lila’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s a celebration of compassion, health, and incredible food. If you’re in Sarasota, this is a MUST-TRY! 🌱✨
